Your Father's Good Pleasure

My back yard is not elaborately landscaped, but it has one big weather worn, beautiful oak tree, not everyone would call beautiful, that I love. It invites wonderful creatures to my yard from the field behind our house. I can't wait until I snap a picture, under that tree, of the shy cardinal that comes to feed daily but will not pose for a photo shoot. I know one day I'll get a breathtaking image to you of a brilliant, red cardinal.  This blog will "mark my words." Why do I know that I will get that lovely picture of the male cardinal that visits when he thinks I'm not looking? I know in my heart it is the Father's good pleasure that I share it with you.

When the desires of our hearts align with God's purpose for us, everything is possible. I think the term "desires of my heart" I remember from scripture indicates a passionate longing, not just an "oh that would be nice" wish. That's why I know I'll get my picture at just the right time; but in the meantime, I am not disappointed by the beauty I see every morning in such a simple setting, and I thank God for it. Maybe it's just the squirrel's time to get good coverage since they seem to be taking center stage lately. Their pesky side often puts them on the ignore or destroy list, but they are amazing creatures, too. The little mocking bird is worthy of a picture. It spent years as our Florida state bird and sings so beautifully, it warms my insides. I was terribly disappointed when they replaced it with a bird of prey for our state bird. The osprey is glorious, but the song of the mockingbird is heavenly. We are ALL amazing creatures and co-creators of our lives. When we understand that truth, we can put aside our fears and excuses and know we will receive what we ask for. I like the way Jimmy in our old neighborhood used to say, "It's a Lock!"

Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.Luke 12:32

The Mirror of God

I sat on the back porch early in the AM holding my warm coffee cup tightly in my hands listening to birds sing and a gator behind the fence ...
